Divorce can leave a person devastated and broken. It is a major, life-changing event that could shatter your heart into pieces. Accepting the fact that everything just isnt the same anymore, especially for those who didnt see it coming, may be a little too hard. Having to deal all alone with issues like children, money, career changes and downsizing the family income can be overwhelming, and is enough to make one ask: Is there life after divorce? There are problems that one can solve, and there are problems beyond ones control. Identify those that you have control over, focus on it and let go of the rest. The quality of life we experience is based on the emotions that we feel. Whether positive or negative, feeling a rush of emotions is normal. Deal with those feelings and let out the negative ones without doing anything destructive to yourself and to those around you.

These feelings wont last forever. Sometimes its good to just let yourself wallow in them. Have some fun. Laugh and play with your kids. Try to create pleasant memories that they will bring with them for the rest of their lives with confidence, happiness and self-esteem. No matter how hard, focus on the present instead of moping and crying and the if-onlys. Be a good example to your children during these difficult times. Get on with your life. Healing from feelings of loss takes time, but its well worth it. Identify the problems that led to divorce, learn a lesson from it but leave it behind.

Forgive yourself and your spouse and try to develop a positive attitude. Whats done is done, but you can always look at the brighter side and learn to adapt. Before I start blubbering, I want to emphasize one important thing that I have learnt from my many failures trying to lose weight. There is simply NO such thing as losing 10 lbs of weight in a week while you are on a HEALTHY diet. Now, now, don't let it disappoint you. I'm only saying it so that you won't give up when you see oh-not-so-dramatic results in your first week following my tips below. But, what I can guarantee is that you will definitely lose weight gradually but consistently while maintaining your fitness. I've tried and succeeded. I have gone from 170 lbs to 112 lbs in nine months! These following tips have helped me achieve my dream body and here's hoping that they will help you too!

Tip No.1: Check out the Calories.

You should look at the calories per serving for the food you are picking up to eat or you are putting into your grocery shopping cart. Calorie intake per day should be tabbed daily. You probably have heard many times that excess fat forms when there are more calorie intake than that burned. It is generally a good idea to have 1500 to 2000 calories per day. In certain diet plans, people strip down the calorie intake to under 900 per day but it didn't work well for me and I never lasted over a week. I felt tired and depressed as a result of that over reduced diet. Too few calorie intake never goes well with your health. However, keeping track of the calories helps you shape up your diet and lose weight fast. My idea is to acknowledge the calorie intake but don't overdo it.

Tip No.2: A bowl of vegetables salad and a glass of water before each meal.

Clean
Dust, dirt and grime are sources of negative energy. Negative energy is distracting and interferes with your ability to feel comfortable and motivated.

Organized
When youre organized you can find what you want when you want it, keep track of what you need to do and work efficiently. Being organized also helps you feel more in control and empowered.

Uncluttered
Clutter distracts. Clutter irritates. Clutter attracts more clutter. It also talks to you. Ill bet the last time your space was cluttered with paper it said something like, Why dont you take care of me? or What a mess! Who needs a space that says unkind things to you!

In rooms that are too bright, you run a risk of burnout because theres too much energy. If windows let in too much light, bringing in heat and glare, window coverings can be used to moderate the level of light. If a room is too dim, there isnt enough energy in the space and its very hard to feel motivated to take action. In that case adding additional light is essential.

It is most important that you avoid having furniture that you hate because its ugly, is uncomfortable or is associated with bad memories or bad feelings. Always choose comfortable furniture whose appearance you love.

Our natural habitat is the out of doors. Plants make spaces feel comfortable because they bring the outdoors inside. Live plants also remove pollutants from the air. Their green color will nurture you and can transform a sterile environment into a comfortable space. While live plants are preferable, silk plants that look like real plants can be used as long as they are kept clean.

Interesting, colorful art
Art feeds a space with color and scenes that can lift your spirits and your energy. Violent scenes and scenes with a negative association should be avoided because their negative energy will affect your energy and could attract negative circumstances.

Mementos that matter to you
Mementos hold the energy of the memory associated with them. When that association is positive and you bring them into your space, you are anchoring positive pieces of your history. Our modern era has very quickly seen a huge rise in the manufacture and distribution of heavily refined, over-processed and genetically-modified foods that now fill the biggest part of the dietary habits of most of the worlds populationsand boy-o-boy, has Big-Pharma and Big-Food made it difficult to kick that habit, or what..?

Cutting to The Chase:

The amount of poisons on our supermarket shelves today just never ceases to amaze meeven in these enlightened times with more and more scientific and medical research proving beyond any doubt that what weve been force-fed by the media, the big food corporations and so-called science since the 1960s, you and your loved ones are still being pushed to take serious risks with your health

while at the same time youve been persuaded to stop consuming what we all consumed up to that point because apparently it was all UnhealthyWRONG..!!

Most of the foods and beverages currently on your supermarket shelves and you can bet your life, in your kitchen cupboards at home are simply not what you should be consuminghere are 8 of what i and a lot of others, including many from the medical community, consider to be the most poisonous of the lot:

In a nutshell, in all its glorious modern day, heavily refined and bleached forms and colours and types, its practically everywhere, in just about every pre-packaged food and beverage product thats in your supermarkets right now and if it isnt, then some form of chemically-manufactured sweetener is

#2 SMOKING

Another constant source of amazement to mein this day and age, with all the medical and scientific information we now have at hand regarding this highly dangerous and health devastating habit, people are still doing itUN-freakin-BELIEVABLE..!!

As an ex-smoker whos learned lessons the hard way, im quite passionate about this (us ex-smokers are the the worst, right..!?!) and ive written fairly extensively about it over several articles.

If you dont want to live long and if you want to spend your last few years of a shortened life, dying slowly and painfully, if you really want to keep up the rank breath and poisoning the air so that your nearest-and-dearest become passive smokers, then keep it upif you want a long, happy and comfortable lifeSTOPno excuses, it is that simple..!

#3 EXCESSIVE ALCOHOL

Hey, were all human (oops, did that sound just a tad defensive..?)we all like a drink i certainly dothe honest truth is i love a good cold beer and i adore Jack Daniels

and as i say quite oftena little bit of what you like now and then, wont hurt you.

In fact its a known fact that alcohol in moderation, can actually be beneficial to your healthBUTeveryday drinking in large quantities and out-and-out binge-drinking is NOT in any way or form, good for youso MODERATION IS KEY..!

Constant heavy drinking is destructive to your mind and body BE AWARE AND JUST DONT DO IT..!!

#4 EXCESSIVE CAFFEINE

Again, ill point out that a little bit of what you like will never hurt youand i love my coffee its even been proved to be good for you at certain times...oh, and i've also written another full article regarding the good in coffee...

but, too much of a stimulant like caffeine can (and usually does) upset your sleep routinegood quality sleep is critical for bodily and mental rejuvenation.

Have your cup or two (or three. like me!) of Joe in the morning by all means but as soon as you start drinking it to excess, especially later in the day, youre going to start down the slippery-slope of addiction and all the attendant woes that go with ithave a care and control your craving..!

#5 POISONOUS CHEMICALS

Try to use alternative natural cleaners and remediesthere really are some great natural alternatives around if you just care to take the time and look.

Theres an amazing array of toxic substances in our household cleaners and even in our personal grooming products, let alone those that are in our food productsyou need to be aware and try the alternatives.

At the very least, if youre going to stick to your regular household cleaners etc. then ensure you protect yourself from the harmful toxins and poisonous elements that they contain wear gloves, use proper ventilation etc.

#6 WHEAT & FLOUR

Although popular theory holds that wheat hasnt been around long enough for our slowly evolved human body to have adapted to cope with its absorption as a food, it has still been around and consumed by us for a very long timeyet the many associated diseases and illnesses blamed on wheat and its products are actually only very recent developments..!

So, it therefore makes perfect sense that the massive changes in wheat production caused massive changes in the health-sustaining nutrient properties of wheat.

Well, Frankenfoods, food monsters, are around us in abundancewheat and sugar being just two of thosebut the most insidious and most widespread Frankenfood are the Frankenoils the vegetable oils used in foods and for cooking that took the place of all the healthy fats and oils we once used, because we were told that these new oils were healthier than what we were consuming up until then

nothing could have been further from the truth we were hoodwinked again!

These vegetable oils are nowhere near related to any health-strengthening vegetable that exists on our planet they are simply over-processed products of GMO plants and some of them are not even classified as food but are in fact classified as industrial..?!?

By now, i'm sure you WON'T be surprised to know i've written a complete article about this too...when you get the chance, read it and weepits scary how so many people are ignorant of the health risks they are undertaking when using using these oils everyday for cooking.

Oh, and by the way, i definitely include any and all forms of margarine in this category of poisonous foods that you should most definitely not be consumingmargarine is after all, just a solidified vegetable oil a plastic oil at that!

#8 ALL-NIGHTERS

Oh YeahI remember these in fact i tried that again just recently and i was basically screwed for a weekserve myself rightman im getting old..!!!

As youngsters we absorb the physical punishment of too-much alcohol and lack of sleep pretty well up to a pointbut then it inevitably gets to a point as we get older, where we either have to calm down or suffer the serious consequences that are inherent with this type of lifestyle.

Sleep is NOT a luxury, its an absolute necessity required for a sound body and mind you NEVER get back the sleep you loose and if you lose too much, you WILL shorten your life-spansimple..!

Suffice to say, if you want to prolong your life, and remain naturally healthy and well throughout, then make regular, top quality rest, a priority.

A Final Anecdote:

Yep i know, it isnt always easy avoiding all the dangers that life puts in your way almost every damned daybut you dont have to live like a hermit or a monk or nun, you just need to take care, as much as you can, whenever and wherever you can.

People often ignore the importance of caring for ones feet. We often recognize the need for having healthy feet once we have encountered problems like foot pain. Some foot-related diseases are simple, while others can get to be quite complicated, to the point of affecting our overall health. Even in case of the seemingly simple foot ailments, we have to take preventive measures to avoid potential complications. Having healthy feet increases vitality and functionality, and above all, it boosts confidence. We feel we are more able when we feel comfortable. Here are a few steps you can take to ensure proper care of your feet:

1) Always keep your feet clean. One major cause of foot problems is microbial infestation. Fungi, bacteria and viruses can penetrate your feet if you make them conducive for microbial growth. It cannot be avoided that we become exposed to these types of microorganisms. However, we can prevent them from growing and causing problems to our feet. There is a need to wash our feet daily using soap or a scrub. Rinse them thoroughly and dry using a clean cloth or towel. Microbial infection may not necessarily be painful like plantar fasciitis, but it can really bring great trouble for anyone who suffers from it. When barefoot, it is more likely for you to slip on a sharp object that may hurt your feet or other body parts. Having flat feet increases the chance of getting hurt by any object, since it allows you expose a greater area of your precious feet.

4) Avoid extreme temperatures. Check the temperature of water before dipping in. Extreme conditions may cause problems with your skin. It is recommended to use warm water when washing your feet to be able to kill harmful bacteria. However, water that is too hot may strip the natural oils in your skin, which may eventually lead to dryness. During the night when it becomes too cold, wear one or two layers of socks to regulate your feets temperature.

5) Inspect your feet daily. Search for signs of blisters, cuts and scratches, which may be a favorable environment for microbes to grow. Immediately apply medication to affected areas after washing. Use foot powder and moisturizer if you think you need supplemental care for your skin. In addition, you have to inspect the shoes or slippers that you are about to wear and remove foreign materials.

You must also be selective in buying shoes; avoid materials that may induce sweating and fungal growth. Calorie restriction is an essential part of weight loss. If you do not lower the number of calories you consume each day to at least the number of calories your body burns, you will gain weight. In this article I discuss in greater detail how calorie restriction can help you lose weight and how you can effectively reduce your daily caloric intake.

Let's start by explaining calories and what they actually are. A calorie is a unit of measurement for energy. In nutritional terms a calorie often refers to a kilocalorie (kcal) which is the approximate amount of energy needed to increase the temperature of 1kg of water by 1 degree Celsius. The body absorbs calories and energy in two ways; - 1) From the food that you consume. - 2) From the fat that is stored in your body.

As you can probably see, the ideal weight loss situation is to force your body to burn fat for energy. This can be achieved by eating less than your normal appetite i.e. reducing your caloric intake. Your body will then be forced to burn stored fat to get the additional energy it requires. If you think of the body like a car it may be a little easier to explain. Let's imagine that this car requires twenty gallons of petrol every week but you purchase twenty four gallons instead. Every week you build up a reserve of four gallons which you can use at a later date if needed. However, if you do not use up these gasoline reserves soon you will quickly find that you need a large storage tank. Similarly with your body, if you burn as many calories as you consume you will be fine. If you consume more calories than you burn for an extended period you will find your fat stores rapidly expanding. To lose this excess weight you will have to consume less calories than you burn.

So now you understand the theory behind calorie restriction you probably want to know how many calories should you personally eat to force your body to burn fat? One suggestion is to eat fewer calories than those needed to fuel your basal metabolic rate (BMR) i.e. the calories you need to survive. You can calculate your BMR with the help of BMR calculators which are available for free online. Once you have your BMR number you should focus on consuming less calories. As long as the number of calories you consume is lower than your BMR number, your body will start to burn fat. However, I understand that this can often be easier said than done so here are a few tips to help you restrict your daily caloric intake:

1) CURRENT DAILY CALORIC INTAKE:- What is your current daily caloric intake? How different is this to your BMR number? By looking at your existing caloric intake you have a base to work with which makes the whole calorie restriction process a lot more manageable. For example, let's say your BMR is 2000 calories a day. You write down all the foods you eat in a week and it turns out you are consuming an average of 2500 calories a day. From this you can see that you need to lose 500 calories a day. You can modify your existing diet so that it contains less calories instead of trying to create a completely new 2000 calorie per day diet.

I know a lot about you already. Seems everybody is jumping on the juicing bandwagon these days, myself included. It's not that this has been my first attempt; not even close.

Over the years I have experimented with juicing many times, but it was always short lived. I never could really pinpoint exactly why I gave up on each attempt, until my last and final failure.

After many of my own failed juicing attempts I decided to examine why something promoted as being so healthy was proving to be so difficult. This is what I discovered and how I resolved it.

First off, I'm a busy girl. I have a lot of things to get done in a day and I don't want to spend my whole day in the kitchen. It's just not practical. Most people even if they wanted to hang out in their kitchen all day, simply can't, because they are working a job in a location other than their home. Not to mention all the other activities one is responsible for each day, beyond eating and maintaining their health. Now try throwing a time consuming activity, like juicing into the mix, and all you get is a recipe for "not going to happen".

Well not too long ago, during one of my juicing attempts in which I was determined to personally experience all of the carrot juice benefits there were to experience, a light came on. I was three months into this particular juicing experiment when I had had enough. I put down the juicer parts, emptied the pulp container one last time, and backed away from the carrots. Don't get me wrong, I was enjoying my basic recipe of spinach and carrot juice benefits such as; glowing skin, healthy hair and more energy, but I wasn't enjoying the time spent on it each day.

I'm a very impatient person when it comes to food. I want to eat healthy, but when I'm hungry I want to eat now. I don't want to wait and I don't want to spend my whole day just preparing meals. Enough said. Back to my story. So I had stepped away from my latest juicing experiment but I was still trying to figure out another way to get the carrot juice benefits I was getting before. Without all the work. Well as luck would have it, the answer soon appeared.

A friend of mine introduced me to a miracle and the rest is history. Once I had the right tool, I was able to then devise my own system. It was as simple as that. And if a person wants to start juicing, it doesn't get any simpler than this.

1. Get yourself one of these miracles. I will tell you how at the end of this article 2. Get yourself a big bag of organic carrots 3. Have fresh filtered water on hand 4. get yourself a hand held, medium size strainer. The kind that you hold over a cup or bowl. They're inexpensive and easy to find.

You now have everything you need to start making your own juice. From here you simply clean 3 to 4 carrots, cut them in half, put about a cup of water into the miracle machine, hit the button which turns it into juice in 50 seconds and your done. Pour it into a glass and drink. Some people don't care for the amount of fiber in this juice, which is why I suggest having a strainer on hand. At this point I place the strainer over a cup, I use a large measuring cup, and I pour the carrot juice through the strainer.

I can make this fresh juice in a total of 5 minutes from start to finish. That includes rinsing out the strainer, the miracle machine and any other clean up. I have been doing this for over a year now and I love it!

Living with a person who has a short attention span or perhaps Attention Deficit Disorder (A.D.D.) isnt always easy and does require a commitment for success. Until a professional diagnosis for A.D.D. is made, consider it a short attention span. Generally you cannot be sure about a short attention span until your child is 3 or 4 years of age, yet, you can improve behavior problems after 8 months of age. The ideas and suggestions that follow are intended for children; yet many of them are appropriate for persons of any age whom have a short attention span. A.D.D. and a short attention span are conditions that require management both at home and at school. If your child seems to have a poor attention span and is over 3 years of age, these recommendations may assist you in helping your child. Specific interventions will help to "stretch" the attention span.

Your child is essentially active and energetic. Accept your child's limitations. Remember this hyperactivity is not intentional. Daily outdoor activities are good outlets and provide healthy physical activity. During inclement weather your child needs space to play with minimal restrictions. Encouraging your child to play with one toy at a time rather than many develops focusing skills and results in less distraction. Be sure to praise your child for playing independently. Your goal is not to eliminate the hyperactivity but simply to bring it within reasonable control. Nothing helps a hyperactive child more than having tolerant, patient, low-keyed parents.

Stay organized by having routines. Maintain regular times for wake-up, meals, snacks, chores, naps, and bed. Keeping your environment relatively quiet will encourage thinking, listening and focusing. Routines will help hyperactive children to accept order and stay focused.

Avoid exhaustion and fatigue for the both of you. When a hyperactive child becomes fatigued self-control weakens and the hyperactivity strengthens. Try to have your child rest before fatigue sets in.

Social settings are difficult. Avoid inappropriate social settings with your hyperactive child. After your child develops adequate self-control at home then gradually introduce these situations to your child.

Theres no question that these children may be difficult to manage. They need carefully planned
discipline, acceptance and lots of love. Rules should be created mainly to prevent harm to your child and to others. Apply a few clear, consistent rules to eliminate aggressive behaviors, while avoiding unattainable rules. For example dont expect your child to keep his/her feet still. You may add rules at your child's pace. Always keep it positive! Nonphysical punishment goes a very long way. Physical punishment suggests to your child that physically aggressive behavior is acceptable. Your goal is
less aggressive behavior. Your child needs adult role models of control and calmness. Handle misbehavior immediately. If a show of disapproval doesnt work then use a time-out lasting 1 minute for each year of your childs age.

Preparing your child for school ahead of time will actually stretch the attention span. Encouraging attentive behavior is very beneficial. Schedule brief periods each day to teach listening skills by reading to your child. Start with picture books gradually progressing to reading stories. Teach games to your child, gradually increasing the difficulty of the games. When your child becomes restless, stop and continue later. Praise your child for attentive behavior. This process is slow but invaluable!

The attitude at home must be that your child is a good child with excess energy. It is extremely important that you not give up. Your child must always feel acceptance and love within the family. As long as your child feels accepted their self-esteem will survive.

You too need time away from it all. Share in the responsibility of creating a loving home environment. A baby sitter once a week or an occasional evening out can amazingly recharge your batteries. Parents, you need to rejuvenate yourselves so you can continue to meet your child's extra needs.

Enroll your child in pre-school by age 3 to help teach organizational and focusing skills. Consider enrolling your child in kindergarten a year late so that the added maturity may help your child may fit-in better. Some standard approaches that teachers may use to help children are smaller class size, study space, and personal tasks. You can obtain help with your childs schoolwork by working closely with the school staff. If your child has trouble doing well in school, focus on areas of strength to help gain a sense of success.

There is help. Traditional and alternative health care is both very beneficial. You may want to discuss the use of medications with your child's physician or health care provider. If you use medications, include individualized education plans, natural remedies and home management programs. Medications alone have no long-term benefit; they need to be part of a broader plan. There are also support groups both locally and nationwide. No one said its easy, yet it is successfully manageable
