Most people want a lean body diet because they know they should eat better. Forget the fad diets and use some common sense. Everything you need is in easy reach and simple. The first step in creating a lean body diet is to change your eating habits by creating a daily meal plan. The best meal plan should incorporate healthy foods from all the major food groups, but in a way that's satisfying and enjoyable to you.

Group 1. Natural fat burning foods

These foods fight fat but also curb hunger! Green vegetables, such as cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower spinach are examples. Any citrus fruit also acts as a fat burning food. Vitamin-C actually turns fat deposits into liquid. Berries and apples especially contain lots of Vitamin-C which make them a great food to fight fat and curb hunger.

Eating oranges can lower your blood pressure as well because of all the potassium they contain. Apples have a large amount of Vitamin C and contain fiber which is vital to digestion. Bananas are rich in potassium which is believed to help with problems like diarrhea and Parkinson's disease. Garlic is good for weight loss. You may already be using garlic as spice; just start using more of it.

Group 2. Lean Meats

Lean meats are high in protein and also aid in weight loss while at the same time helping to build muscle. If you are exercising and eating lean meat in your meals you will build muscle. Muscle is so effective in aiding weight loss because muscle burns fat even while resting. Chicken meats are the best, other meats and fish are also good, as long as they are as lean as possible.

Group 3. Carbohydrates

There is no such thing as "good" carbs or "bad" carbs. There are carbs that help you lose weight and there are carbs that make it harder to lose weight. Most people eat too many of the carbs that are not helping their weight loss efforts.

Certain carbs cause the blood sugar to rise and your body then produces insulin to process that rise in blood sugar level. When insulin is secreted it causes fat storage. Eating carbs that do not produce an insulin spike reduces fat storage and your weight loss efforts are not reversed. Common foods that increase Insulin and cause fat retention are honey, candies, any refined sugars, white breads, watermelons and dates

Foods that do not cause an Insulin spike are wholegrain bread, kidney beans, frozen green peas, plums and milk.

A lean body diet means eating 4-6 smaller meals a day, your metabolism will actually speed up when you eat more and increase the rate of fat reduction. Only eat until you are about 80% full and eat slower, you will quickly adapt and the benefits are substantial.

Drink lots of water. One coffee or tea per day is fine, but reduce alcohol and completely cut out sugared drinks. Snack on celery, salt free nuts, granola, broccoli, apples etc. Reduce your salt intake, it's a killer!

Remember when you combine your lean body diet with a whole body workout routine it will mean you can get away with twice as much if you are exercising.

Integrate all of these tips into your lean body diet and you should notice weight loss within your first week or two. The benefits? - a long and healthy life ,and a great looking body.
